After a week of deliberation, the Blossoming In Nature team decided to meet with a group of parents of special children contacted through a close acquaintance.

Arriving in the mid-afternoon of March 11th at Mary Jo Peckham Park, the team collected at the entrance of the bustling park filled with children playing and the sound of laughter. After a minute of discussion, the team met the parents inside a covered pagoda at the park's center.

As I readied the presentation and the others got to know the special children, the sudden problem of a language barrier approached me. Although most of the parents present were no doubt completely fluent in English, some were more well-versed in Chinese. To overcome this problem, as we began the presentation, I made my best attempt at a real-time English-to-Chinese translation so that our points could be better communicated. During the presentation, we made our best effort to display our ideas and precise planning for future events.

Thankfully, the parents appreciated this show of attempted outreach and enthusiastically urged us to found Blossoming In Nature. Ann’s mom, Mrs. Beige Chen, even provided us with some introductory guides on registering our nonprofit.

Following the announcement, we went on a light stroll around the park, reveling in the sense of relief inspired by the confirmation of our ideas by the recently acquainted parents. The tension that had built up during the week of deliberation dissipated, and we, along with several special children that had followed us, found solace in the serene surroundings of the park.

Special thanks to the families who attending the meeting.
