Connor Yuan, currently 22 years old, was diagnosed with severe autism at the age of 5. Despite facing challenges, his passion for music has been a driving force in his life.
Connor's musical journey began in the 6th grade when he joined the school orchestra. In recognition of his dedication, Connor was honored with the Most Outstanding First Year Orchestra award at the end of that school year. Despite the physical difficulties he encountered while playing the violin, Connor's determination shone through. To overcome these challenges, he committed to practicing for one hour every day during the following summer. His hard work paid off, as Connor secured the first chair position in the school orchestra performance team 3 in 7th grade. His skills continued to flourish, earning him a place in the school orchestra performance team 1 by 8th grade. Even in 9th grade, when he experienced some twitching in his right arm, Connor persisted, displaying unwavering dedication to his craft. By the end of 9th grade, Connor's commitment and achievements were recognized with the Outstanding Student award.
Connor's daily dedication to playing the violin has garnered admiration from those around him. Connor's story is one of resilience, determination, and an unyielding love for music that inspires others.
After years of playing the violin, Connor embarked on a meaningful journey by volunteering at a senior home, where he dedicated his time to playing music for the residents. This volunteering experience not only allowed him to share the joy of music but also became a transformative journey for himself. As he continued to play the violin, the act of volunteering instilled a newfound confidence in him. Through the connection with the elderly and the impact of music on their lives, Connor discovered a deeper meaning in his musical pursuits. The synergy of volunteering and playing music created a harmonious blend, enriching both his life and the lives of those he touched in the senior home.

Violin Concerto in A major First Movement

During the COVID quarantine, Connor and his beloved mother learned Concerto together by themselves. This music holds special meaning for both the mother and son.
Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 1 in A major is celebrated for its delightful melodies, brilliant orchestration, and the balance it strikes between virtuosic display and lyrical expression. The concerto is a shining example of Mozart's mastery in crafting music that is both technically demanding and emotionally engaging.

Violin Duet: Connor Yuan & Stephanie Xinyue Dong
Connor's three violin performances showcased not just his talent but also his determination, inspiring everyone with his passionate playing despite facing challenges. When Connor teamed up with Stephanie for a stunning violin duet, their harmony resonated in perfect synchronization, leaving the audience spellbound.

Connor played three classical violin pieces that he learned during the Covid quarantine with his mother. He is very confident in his ability to play the music perfectly and give a flawless performance.

Connor and his beloved mother, who is also his friend and teacher, love each other unconditionally.

Connor began volunteering at senior homes, playing music to the residents after the concert.
